ABOUT US

Altamaha's South Georgia Kennel

Located near the Altamaha River in Jeff Davis County, Altamaha's South Georgia Kennel's 135 acres of planted pines, training ponds, and upland training fields are a retriever's paradise. My journey of training, breeding, and developing dogs started with a chocolate lab named "Hannah," back in 1990 on the campus of Mercer University in Macon, Georgia. Ever since, it has been a labor of love for myself, and now for my family. About 20 years ago, we were introduced to the Boykin Spaniel breed and instantly fell in love with those little brown dogs. Back then, there were only about 20,000 registered Boykins and very few with excellent hips. We were extremely thankful that the Boykin Spaniel Society held to and continues to hold such high breeding and registration standards. Our mission is to provide an outstanding breed of Boykin Spaniel which will not only be excellent hunters but family companions that everyone will love and enjoy. Our puppies come from a long line of championship bloodlines with quality genetics, great temperament, outstanding hunting abilities, good looks, and make an overall wonderful family member. All of our puppies are whelped in our home.  We handle and socialize with them daily, until it is time for them to go to their new homes. We have very limited litters during the year, but we will refer you to other quality breeders if no puppies are available at the time of your call.
